	The process
	This application was created for a video editor prototype produced for the Digital Equipment Corp. The application allows editing of audio and video clips. The UI, facilitates the manipulation of the input data (video/audio) by visualizing the pre and post data results. Here, the process is dictated by the user.

	The machine
	In this case, the application is the machine. It makes available a number of facilities to the user. Allowing data to be retrieved, manipulated and stored. The machine also includes the microprocessor (Alpha chip set) without which no work would be possible.
	The user \ operator
	A good interface minimizes a user's learning curve and makes available all the features the application has to offer. It structures an application's features providing the user a comfortable environment in which to use them.
